Pound for pound you will not find a harder fighting fish in freshwater than the Smallmouth
Bass. Lake St. Clair has long been known for its large numbers of scrappy Smallmouths.
The introduction of zebra mussels and the round goby have had one positive effect, cleaner
water and a high protien food source. This combination has made daily limits of Smallmouth Bass commonplace on Lake St. Clair
with some topping the scales over six pounds!
We use light tackle and drift, troll or cast depending on the weather and location of the
fish.
